IMMUTABLE STORAGE

Every version of your files, kept.

Sync copies your mistakes, and ransomware can encrypt the cloud folder too. Deppo keeps every version, so you can restore the files from before.

Protection

How it works

Deppo is a drive that remembers. You save files the way you already do. Every version stays, and you can open any of them again.

01 Your computer

It shows up as a drive

On Windows, macOS, or Linux, Deppo appears as a drive. Open, edit, and save files in the programs you already use. After you subscribe, the account page shows how to connect.

02 What is protected

Every save is kept

Each save becomes its own version, immediately. Deleting a file or replacing it only changes what you see now. Earlier versions stay for the life of the subscription.

If today’s drive is wiped or encrypted, those versions are still there. The connection from your computer is encrypted, and files are stored exactly as you saved them. The subscription password opens them. Signing in on the website is for managing the subscription.

Your files are stored on Hetzner servers in Germany or Finland. Those data center parks are ISO/IEC 27001 certified. We comply with the GDPR.

03 Getting files back

Every version kept

Every version of every file is kept forever, so an old version is never more than a few clicks away.

Sign in and open the Storage browser. Pick a file, open its version history, and download the version you need. Looking at history leaves it untouched.

FAQ

How Deppo works day to day — and what happens when something goes wrong.

How do I use Deppo and upload files?

Mount Deppo as a drive with WebDAV and use Finder, Explorer, or any desktop app as if the files were local. Prefer not to install anything? Open the Storage browser in any web browser instead: upload, download, rename, delete, and look at version history, with no drive to set up.

For scripts, backups, and automation, use the S3 interface or the full API with the clients and languages you already use. After you create a subscription, the account page walks you through connecting on Windows, macOS, or Linux.

What is the Storage browser?

A file browser built into the website. Open it from a subscription card to view, upload, download, rename, delete, and browse version history, right in the browser, on any device, with no drive to mount and nothing to install.

Is there an API?

Yes. A full WebDAV-based API lets programs list folders, upload and download files (including past versions), create and delete folders and files, move, rename, and copy, authenticated the same way as a drive connection.

After signing in, Connect shows the authentication details and code samples in several languages.

Can I use Deppo as a normal drive?

Yes and no. It behaves as a normal drive, so you can open a Word or Photoshop file there and work on it. Many of those apps also save recovery copies from time to time. Those copies disappear when you save, but Deppo keeps every version, so this can add a lot to your quota. In most cases it is wiser to copy the file to your computer, edit it there, and copy it back when you are done.

Deppo does not support file locks. You can mount the same drive on many devices and share it with other users, but nothing stops two people from editing one file at the same time. One save can overwrite the other person's work. The earlier version stays in history.

Where is my data stored?

All data stays in the EU, on Hetzner servers in Germany or Finland. Your subscription is placed on the server nearest to you so latency stays low while remaining under European jurisdiction.

Those Hetzner data center parks are ISO/IEC 27001 certified and Hetzner complies with the GDPR, so storage there follows those security and data-protection requirements. Deppo itself is not ISO certified.

Does Deppo encrypt my files?

No. Deppo does not encrypt data or alter files in any way — what you upload is what is stored.

For sensitive material, encrypt files yourself before storing them in Deppo. Deppo will then keep those encrypted bytes as-is, including in history.

Traffic between your computer and Deppo is always encrypted with TLS (the same HTTPS technology browsers use). Your client and the server negotiate a secure session, so data in transit cannot be read or tampered with by anyone on the network — even though the stored files themselves are left unchanged.

How often are history snapshots taken?

Every write creates a new version. There is no scheduled snapshot interval to wait for — each change is recorded as immutable history as it happens.

How do I get a previous version of a file?

Log in at www.deppo.eu and open the Storage browser on your subscription. Click the history icon next to a file to see every version with its date and size, then download the one you want. Browsing history never changes it.

What if I accidentally delete a file?

A delete creates a new version — it does not erase the past. Turn on “Show deleted” in the Storage browser, open the file’s version history, and download the version from before the deletion.

What if I accidentally change a file?

The previous content stays in history. Open the file’s version history in the Storage browser and download the version you want.

GitHub has good version control. Can Deppo beat that?

No. Deppo does not try to beat GitHub at version control. A repository can still be deleted in a moment, and access to your phone can be enough for someone to do that.

If someone pretending to be you cancels a Deppo subscription, the files and their history stay available for 30 days. You can still open them with the password you stored when you created the subscription, unless that person can also answer your security question and replace the password.

How is quota calculated?

All versions count toward your quota. If you change a file five times, each version uses space — not only the latest one.

What happens when I run out of quota?

Your data is not deleted. The volume becomes read-only until you upgrade to a larger tier.

How can I free up some space?

You cannot. Deppo is immutable storage. A file you copy there stays. Editing it creates a new version and leaves the old one in history. Deleting it only hides the current copy. You can still go back in time and recover it. There is no way for you, or for Deppo staff, to delete that history and free the space.

If most of the drive is obsolete and you no longer need it, cancel the subscription, create a new one, and copy over only what you still want. After you cancel, you have 30 days to read the old files. That gives you a clean start.

Can I upgrade or downgrade without losing data?

Yes. Upgrades keep everything as-is. You can downgrade only when your current used quota fits within the lower tier.

What if I need more storage than Enterprise?

Contact us for a custom tier. You can also run more than one subscription if that fits your setup better.

How does VAT work?

Deppo is based in Estonia. Listed prices exclude VAT. For private individuals, Estonian VAT (24%) is added at checkout.

EU businesses that provide a valid VAT number are billed under the reverse-charge mechanism (0% VAT).

What is wrong with OneDrive, Google Drive, or Dropbox?

Mirroring a folder, the way OneDrive does, is useful. It also mirrors mistakes. An accidental delete or overwrite is copied to the cloud with everything else.

If someone gets into your computer, they can often find the saved credentials and then delete or encrypt everything in that cloud. Deppo stores credentials on your computer as well. Canceling a subscription does not erase the files. Every current file and every earlier version stays available for 30 days, and you can still open them with the password you saved when you created the subscription. Access to your email alone does not replace that password.

What if someone gets into my email?

Someone with your email or Google account can sign in, and can create or cancel subscriptions. If they know the security-question answer, they can reset a subscription password. That replaces the password and shuts off drives already connected to it. They still cannot read or change the files without the subscription password.

What if I lose access to my email entirely?

When you create a subscription you receive a password. Print it or store it somewhere safe. That password still opens the files if you can no longer reach the email account. If you still have the account, the security question can reset the password. Email or Google sign-in cannot open the files by itself.

What if someone cancels my subscription?

After cancellation, files are kept for 30 days whether the plan was paid or free. You can still sign in with your password and download everything during that window.

Can multiple people use one subscription?

Yes. You can add other owners or users to your account so a team can share the same subscription.

Can I add a second email for account safety?

Yes. Add another user and give them owner rights. That second email can sign in to the account if you lose the first one. Each account has its own security question. Signing in still cannot open the files without the subscription password.

Founder

Why I founded Deppo

Tan Silliksaar

Tan Silliksaar

Most cloud storage is built to mirror whatever is on your computer right now. That is fine until the thing being mirrored is the problem: a bad save, an overwrite, or ransomware encrypting the folder the sync client is watching. The cloud copy updates with it. Recycle bins only help if the file was deleted, and version history on the large providers is usually a short window, a paid extra, or something a lifecycle rule is allowed to throw away. Scheduled backups miss whatever changed since the last run.

I founded Deppo so a save would not replace the file before it. Every write stays for the life of the subscription, including after a delete, and you can open the drive as it was at a moment you choose. Once it worked for my own files, and I found I enjoyed using it, I wanted others to have it too.

Monitoring

Reliability

Every Deppo server is checked once a minute by an independent monitor in Frankfurt, hosted at bunny.net. A failure or a timeout is recorded as one outage minute for that server. Those logs are public. Every outage they contain is reported, including one that lasts a single minute.

The commitment is 99.9% of any 30-day period. See the terms.

Legal

Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Deppo website located at https://www.deppo.eu (the "Site") and the Deppo services, including the API (Application Programming Interface) and all other services available on or through the Site (collectively, the "Services"). These Terms apply to all users of the Site and Services. By using the Site or Services, you agree to these Terms.

Information About Us

The Site is operated by Zpeks OÜ (referred to in these Terms as "Deppo", "we", "us", and "our"). We are a company registered in Estonia, at Pärnu mnt 10, Tallinn, Estonia.

Changes to these Terms

From time to time, we may change these Terms. If we do, we will post the revised Terms on the Site. When you visit the Site, check that you have read the most recent version. Changes take effect on the revision date shown in the revised Terms. By continuing to use the Site or Services after that date, you agree to the revised Terms.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Site or the Services.

Access to the Site

To use the Site or Services, you must register and create an account by completing the registration form on the Site. You only need to register once. We may refuse any registration, in our sole discretion, without giving a reason.

You must make sure that the details you provide are accurate, correct, and complete, and you must tell us if they change. Check the registration form carefully before you submit it. You can review it on screen before submitting. You can view and update the information you have given us, including your account settings, in the relevant area of the Site.

If we accept your registration, you can create one or more subscriptions. Each subscription has a subscription ID and a password (together, your "Credentials"). You must keep your Credentials confidential and must not reveal them to anyone.

You are responsible for all activity under your account, whether it uses your Credentials or a sign-in method such as email or Google. If you sign in with an email address, other than through Google, we email you a link that is valid for 15 minutes and can be used only once. Opening that link signs you in and sets a cookie that lasts 30 days. We do not store a password for this sign-in. Signing in with email or Google lets you create and cancel subscriptions. It does not give access to the data in a subscription. The subscription password is required to access that data. There is no way to access the data without it, including while you are signed in with email or Google. When you create an account, you choose a security question and an answer. That question can reset a subscription password. Resetting replaces the password, and drives or services already connected to that subscription stop working until they use the new password. When you create a subscription, you receive a password. Keep it somewhere safe. Deppo does not store subscription passwords. A reset shows the new password once. Notify us immediately if you know or suspect that anyone else has obtained your Credentials, or if you become aware of any unauthorized use of your Credentials or any other security breach.

Unless you have already notified us that your Credentials or account access have been compromised, we may treat any use of the Site or Services through your account as use by you.

We may disable access through your Credentials at any time if, in our opinion, this is reasonably necessary to protect the security or proper operation of the Site or Services, if you have failed to comply with these Terms, or if any registration details you provided are false.

You are responsible for making sure your computer system can access and use the Site and Services. Anyone who accesses the Site or Services using your Credentials, your account, or your internet connection must know these Terms and comply with them.

We may withdraw, modify, or suspend the Site or Services. If we discontinue a Service during a period you have already paid for, the refund described under Changes to the Site or Services applies. Deppo will use commercially reasonable efforts to keep Deppo storage available and able to process requests for at least 99.9% of any 30-day period. For this commitment, an "outage" means only an interruption recorded on Deppo's public health page at https://www.deppo.eu/health. If that page does not show an outage for the relevant period, there is no outage under this commitment, even if you have trouble connecting to or using the Services, and even if Deppo cannot help you resolve that trouble. The following do not count as outages: inability to install drivers or client software; firewall, network, ISP, DNS, device, operating-system, or configuration problems on your side; lack of support for a particular client, platform, or setup; or any other difficulty accessing the Services while the health page does not record an outage. Availability is measured only by the outages recorded on that health page. If availability falls below 99.9% in any 30-day period, based on those recorded outages, your sole and exclusive remedy is a credit of one additional month of the affected subscription. That credit is the only compensation for such an outage. Deppo has no further obligation to refund fees or to pay damages or other compensation for unavailability. The same credit is your sole and exclusive remedy for temporary or permanent data loss. Deppo has no further obligation to refund fees or to pay damages or other compensation for that data loss. These limits apply even where the disclaimers below say otherwise, except where applicable law does not allow them.

User Responsibilities

Content stored or posted on the Site or the Services may be protected by the intellectual property rights of others. Do not copy, upload, download, or share files unless you have the right to do so. You are fully responsible and liable for what you, or anyone using your account, copy, share, upload, download, or otherwise use while using the Site or Services.

Acceptable Use of the Site and Services

You are responsible for your use of the Site and Services, and for any use of your account. Our goal is to create a positive and safe experience for all of our users. To promote this goal, we prohibit certain kinds of conduct that may be harmful to other users or to Deppo. When you use the Site or Services, you agree that you will not:

  1. violate any law or regulation;
  2. violate or infringe other people's intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other legal rights;
  3. use the Site or Services to transmit, distribute, post, or submit information about any other person or entity, including photographs or personal contact information, without that person's permission;
  4. transmit anything that is illegal, abusive, defamatory, harassing, harmful to reputation, pornographic, indecent, profane, obscene, hateful, racist, or otherwise objectionable;
  5. send unsolicited or unauthorized advertising or commercial communications, such as spam;
  6. stalk, harass, or harm another individual;
  7. impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with someone else;
  8. use any means to scrape, crawl, or spider any page on the Site (although Deppo may allow operators of public search engines to use spiders to index materials from the Site for the sole purpose of creating publicly available searchable indexes of those materials, and Deppo may revoke that permission generally or in a specific case);
  9. use automated methods to access the Site or Services in a manner that sends more requests to Deppo's servers in a given period than a person can reasonably produce in the same period using a conventional web browser;
  10. interfere with or damage the Site or Services, including through viruses, cancel bots, Trojan horses, harmful code, flood pings, denial-of-service attacks, packet or IP spoofing, forged routing or email-address information, or similar methods or technology;
  11. register for a Deppo account on behalf of someone else, if you are an individual; or, if you are an organization, register more than one Deppo account for the same user, or register for a Deppo account on behalf of someone outside your organization;
  12. recruit or otherwise solicit any user to join a third-party service or website that competes with Deppo, without Deppo's prior written approval;
  13. use, display, mirror, or frame the Site, any element of the Site or Services, Deppo's name, any Deppo trademark, logo, or other proprietary information, or the layout and design of any page or form, without Deppo's express written consent;
  14. access, tamper with, or use non-public areas of the Site or Services, Deppo's computer systems, or the technical delivery systems of Deppo's providers;
  15. attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any Deppo system or network, or breach any security or authentication measure;
  16. avoid, bypass, remove, deactivate, impair, descramble, or otherwise circumvent any technological measure implemented by Deppo, any of Deppo's providers, or any other third party (including another user) to protect the Site or Services;
  17. attempt to decipher, decompile, disassemble, or reverse engineer any of the software used to provide the Site or Services, except to the limited extent allowed by applicable law;
  18. circumvent storage limits;
  19. create or operate a public endpoint, website, CDN origin, or similar service that serves or otherwise publicly distributes content stored in a Deppo subscription, for example by using Deppo as storage for a public website or other publicly reachable files;
  20. use the Site or Services in an unreasonable or excessive manner;
  21. sell or resell any of the Services unless Deppo has specifically authorized you to do so; or
  22. advocate, encourage, or assist any third party in doing any of the above.

Account usage must be reasonable. Reasonable use includes a private individual using Deppo from a private computer for personal storage, and an organization using Deppo for backups and similar internal data-protection purposes. Deppo may, in its sole discretion, decide what is reasonable and may limit, suspend, or restrict an account that uses Deppo excessively or in a manner inconsistent with these uses.

Deppo may investigate breaches of any of the above and may cooperate with law enforcement in pursuing users who breach these Terms. You acknowledge that Deppo has no obligation to monitor your access to or use of the Site or Services, or to review or edit any User Content, but has the right to do so to operate the Site or Services, to check your compliance with these Terms, or to comply with applicable law or with an order or requirement of a court, administrative agency, or other governmental body. Deppo may, at any time and without prior notice, remove or disable access to any content that Deppo, in its sole discretion, considers objectionable, in violation of these Terms, or harmful to the Site or Services.

A free subscription has a fixed storage limit. When that limit is reached, the subscription becomes read-only until there is room again. A paid subscription can be charged during the billing period when stored data rises sharply, as described under Payment. Reaching a limit does not, by itself, delete your data.

You acknowledge that the Services may be subject to export controls, trade sanctions, or other restrictions under the laws of your jurisdiction or of other countries. You may not use, access, export, or disclose the Services in violation of any such laws. You represent and warrant that: (a) you are not a citizen or resident of, and you are not located in, any country or territory subject to a comprehensive embargo (including Cuba, Iran, North Korea, and Syria), and you will not access the Services from any such place; and (b) you are not identified on, and you are not owned or controlled by any person identified on, any sanctions or restricted-party list that would prohibit you from receiving or using the Services.

User Content

In these Terms, "User Content" means all content and information that you store, upload, post, or share using the Site or Services. You, or the person who made the content available to you to store or upload, keep ownership of that User Content. These Terms do not give us any rights in your User Content except a limited right to host, store, copy, transmit, and display it solely as needed to provide the Services to you.

You represent that:

  1. you own your User Content or you have the right to give Deppo the authorization described above;
  2. you have paid, and will pay, any royalties or other fees required for your User Content; and
  3. your User Content does not infringe the intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other legal rights of any third party.

Ownership

Other than User Content, we own or license the content on the Site and Services, including software, text, and visual and audio content (together, "Content"), and Deppo's name, trademarks, logos, and brand elements (the "Marks"). The Content and Marks are protected under U.S., EU, and international laws.

Copyright and Intellectual Property Policy

Notice of copyright or intellectual property infringement. We respect the intellectual property rights of others. Please email us at info@deppo.eu if you believe that a user of the Site or Services has infringed your intellectual property rights. For users in the United States, this policy is provided under Section 512 of the Copyright Act, as amended by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA").

To be effective, your notice should include:

  1. identification of the copyrighted work or other intellectual property claimed to have been infringed or, if multiple works are covered by a single notice, a representative list of those works;
  2. identification of the material claimed to be infringing, and information reasonably sufficient to permit Deppo to locate the material on the Site or Services;
  3. information reasonably sufficient to permit us to contact you, such as an address, telephone number, and, if available, an email address;
  4. a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the rights owner, its agent, or the law (not required for European Union users);
  5. a statement by you, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the rights owner or are authorized to act on the rights owner's behalf (not required for European Union users); and
  6. your physical or electronic signature.

You acknowledge that, when we receive a notice of claimed infringement, we may promptly remove the identified materials from the Site and Services without liability to you.

Counter-notice by an accused user. If we have removed your materials because of suspected copyright or other intellectual property infringement, you may dispute the claim by sending a written counter-notice by email. Your counter-notice should include:

  1. your physical or electronic signature;
  2. identification of the material that was removed or disabled, and the location where the material appeared before it was removed or disabled;
  3. a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification (not required for European Union users); and
  4. your name, address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district in which your address is located or, if your address is outside the United States, the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, and that you will accept service of process from the person who provided the infringement notice, or that person's agent (not required for European Union users).

Repeat infringers. If we determine that you are a repeat infringer, we may, in our discretion, take measures against your account. A repeat infringer is a user who has been the subject of more than one valid takedown request that was not successfully rebutted. Those measures may include limiting some functions of the Services you use.

Privacy

Deppo respects your privacy. Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose information about you. By using the Site or the Services, you also agree to our Privacy Policy.

Encryption

Deppo does not encrypt files for you. Files are stored as they are uploaded. You may encrypt your files with your own software before you upload them. Traffic between your device and Deppo is encrypted with TLS.

In some countries, encryption may be limited, restricted, or prohibited by law. Before you encrypt any files, make sure that doing so is legal where you live. Deppo is not liable for claims brought against you because you chose to encrypt files. By agreeing to these Terms, you agree to hold Deppo harmless from any claim arising out of that choice.

Geo-redundancy

Some plans include geo-redundancy. On those plans, files are stored on one of our data servers and are also copied automatically to another server in a different geographic location. Both servers are in Germany or Finland.

That copy is there in case the stored data is lost. It does not help during a server outage. One server serves the files. If that server is unavailable, the copy in the other location is not used to serve them.

Only files uploaded while the subscription is on a geo-redundant plan are copied. Files already stored before you upgrade to such a plan stay on the original server and are not copied to the second location.

Third-Party Content and Interactions

The Site and Services may contain features that link you to, or give you access to, third-party content or services that are independent of Deppo, including websites, directories, servers, networks, systems, information and databases, applications, software, programs, products or services, and the internet generally. Your dealings with organizations or individuals found on or through the Site or Services are solely between you and those organizations or individuals. You should make whatever investigation you consider necessary before dealing with any of them. You agree that Deppo is not responsible or liable for any loss or damage of any kind arising from your dealings with third parties.

Disputes with other users. If there is a dispute between users of the Site or Services, you understand and agree that Deppo has no obligation to investigate or become involved beyond any action it takes under the copyright and intellectual property notice section above. Deppo may, in its discretion, try to help resolve such a dispute. If it does, it does not take on an obligation to do so, and it is not liable for the conduct that gave rise to the dispute or for its efforts to resolve it.

Disclaimer and waiver of liability. If you have a dispute with any other user of the Site or Services, or with any third party whose content or services you accessed through the Site or Services, you release Deppo and its officers, employees, agents, and successors in interest from claims, demands, and damages (actual and consequential) of every kind, known or unknown, suspected or unsuspected, disclosed or undisclosed, arising out of or in any way related to such disputes. If you are a resident of California, you waive California Civil Code Section 1542, which provides: "A general release does not extend to claims that the creditor or releasing party does not know or suspect to exist in his or her favor at the time of executing the release and that, if known by him or her, would have materially affected his or her settlement with the debtor or released party."

Payment

Some of our Services are free, and others are paid. For the plans and prices, see the Pricing page.

Gigabytes. 1 GB is 1,000,000,000 bytes (one billion bytes). A terabyte is 1,000 GB.

Subscription plans. A paid plan has a monthly fee, an amount of storage included in that fee, and a price for each gigabyte stored above that amount. The prices are on the Pricing page. When you subscribe, you approve Deppo charging your credit card based on your actual usage.

Monthly billing. A paid subscription is billed once a month. The billing date follows the day the subscription was created. The charge for stored data is the price per gigabyte above the included amount, applied to the data stored at the moment of that billing. It is not an average of usage during the month. The monthly fee for the month that is starting is charged at the same time.

Usage spikes. If stored data rises sharply during a billing period, Deppo may charge your credit card at any time before the next regular billing date. The amount of that charge is deducted from the next regular payment.

Payment and cancellation. You can cancel a subscription at any time from your account. Deppo does not refund unused time in the current billing period. If you do not pay on time, the affected subscription is canceled. Deppo will try to contact you if a payment fails, but Deppo is not responsible if you do not receive that notice. You are responsible for keeping your account and subscriptions current. After a subscription is canceled, including for non-payment, your data is kept for 30 days. During that period you can download it with the subscription password. It is then permanently deleted. Signing in with email or Google does not provide that access.

If you subscribe to Services that require a fee ("Paid Services"), you must provide a valid credit card. You authorize Deppo to charge that card for the monthly fee and for data charges that apply to your account, including a charge during a billing period when usage spikes. Payment is collected automatically. Fees exclude VAT and any other taxes, levies, or duties. You are responsible for those amounts. For a private individual in the European Union, Estonian VAT of 24% is added at checkout. An EU business that provides a valid VAT number is billed under the reverse-charge mechanism.

No refunds. Deppo has no money-back guarantee and does not offer refunds if you cancel, if you are not satisfied with Paid Services, or for unused time in a billing period. A free tier is available so you can test the Service before you subscribe, and we encourage you to use that tier first. The only refund Deppo provides is the pro-rata refund under Changes to the Site or Services, if Deppo discontinues a Service during a period you have already paid for. A service credit under the availability commitment above is not a refund.

Free tier. A free-tier subscription with no activity for 90 days is canceled automatically, and its data is deleted at the end of that period. That deletion is not delayed by the 30-day retention period that applies when you cancel a subscription yourself.

Links

The Site and Services may contain links to other websites, and other users may send you such links. A link to a third-party website does not mean that we endorse it or that we are affiliated with it. We are not responsible or liable for any damage or loss related to the use of any third-party website. Read that website's terms and privacy policy before you use it.

Changes to the Site or Services

Deppo updates the Site and Services often. We may change or discontinue the Site or any Service. If we do, we will use reasonable efforts to tell you in advance so you can make other arrangements for your User Content. If we discontinue a Service during a subscription period you have already paid for, we will refund a fair portion of that payment based on the time left in the period.

Change of Ownership

Deppo may, at any time, change its ownership, including by merger, sale, or a similar transaction. Deppo will notify you by updating these Terms. Deppo does not have to give any other notice. The change does not affect your use of the Site or Services, or your subscriptions and accounts.

Termination

We may refuse to provide the Site or Services to any person. We may also end any user's right to access the Site or Services at any time, in our discretion. If you breach these Terms, your permission to use the Site and Services, and your account, end automatically. If Deppo ceases operations, your account ends and Deppo will no longer provide the Site or Services. If your account ends under this section, you will not receive a refund of fees already paid for the account, except for the pro-rata refund under Changes to the Site or Services where that section applies.

Deppo tries to keep the Site and the Services available, error-free, and safe, but Deppo does not guarantee that the Site or the Services will be safe or secure, that access or use will be uninterrupted or free of errors or omissions, or that defects will be corrected. Deppo does not warrant that the Site or the Services will operate error-free, or that the Site and its servers are free of computer viruses or other harmful components. Deppo uses reasonable care and skill in providing the Site and the Services, but beyond that the Site and the Services are provided without warranties of any kind. Deppo disclaims all other warranties, whether express or implied, including any warranty of satisfactory quality, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Deppo makes no warranty about the accuracy, reliability, completeness, or timeliness of the Site or the Services.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits Deppo's liability to you: (i) for death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (ii) for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or (iii) for any other liability that applicable law does not allow us to limit or exclude.

Subject to the paragraph above, Deppo and its directors, officers, employees, and agents will not be liable to you in connection with the Site or the Services (whether for breach of contract, negligence, or any other reason) for: (i) consequential, incidental, or indirect damages; or (ii) loss of business profits, business interruption, or loss of business information. Any liability we do have for losses you suffer is strictly limited to losses that were a direct and reasonably foreseeable result of our default.

Where you use the Site or Services in the course of a business, Deppo's aggregate liability, whether for breach of contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, misrepresentation, or any other reason, is limited to the higher of: (a) the total fees you paid to Deppo for the Site or Services during one month; and (b) EUR 5,000.

Disclaimer and Limitations on Our Liability (For Users Outside of the European Union)

You use the Site and Services at your own risk. The Site and Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Deppo and its officers, employees, directors, shareholders, parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, agents, and licensors (referred to collectively as "Affiliates") disclaim all warranties of any kind, express or implied, with respect to the Site and Services (including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular use or purpose, and non-infringement).

In particular, Deppo and its Affiliates make no representations or warranties about the accuracy or completeness of content available on or through the Site or Services, or the content of any websites or resources linked to the Site or Services. Deppo and its Affiliates will have no liability for any: (a) errors, mistakes, or inaccuracies of content; (b) personal injury or property damage resulting from your access to or use of the Site or Services; (c) unauthorized access to or use of our servers or of any personal or financial information; (d) interruption of transmission to or from the Site or Services, or unavailability of the Site or Services, except for the service credit described under Access to the Site; (e) bugs, viruses, Trojan horses, or the like which may be transmitted on or through the Site or Services by any third party; or (f) loss or damage of any kind incurred as a result of the use of any content posted, emailed, transmitted, or otherwise made available on or through the Site or Services. You, and not Deppo, are responsible for maintaining, protecting, and backing up all of your User Content and data. Deppo will not be liable for any loss or corruption of your User Content or data, or for any costs or expenses of backing up or restoring it, except for the service credit described under Access to the Site.

Deppo and its Affiliates do not warrant, endorse, guarantee, or assume responsibility for any third-party product or service recommended, advertised, or offered on or through the Site or Services, or any linked website.

You understand and agree that any material or information downloaded or otherwise obtained through the use of the Site or Services is obtained at your own risk and that you will be solely responsible for any damage arising from doing so. No advice or information, whether oral or written, obtained by you from Deppo or through the Site or Services will create any warranty not expressly made in these Terms.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, neither Deppo nor its Affiliates will be liable under any theory of liability for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, including damages for loss of revenues, profits, goodwill, use, data, or other intangible losses (even if such parties were advised of, knew of, or should have known of the possibility of such damages), arising from or relating to use of the Site or Services.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation or exclusion of liability for incidental or consequential damages. Accordingly, some of the limitations and disclaimers above may not apply to you. To the extent Deppo may not, as a matter of applicable law, disclaim an implied warranty or limit its liability, the scope and duration of that warranty and the extent of Deppo's liability will be the minimum permitted under that law.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and defend Deppo and its Affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, expenses, and fees of any kind (including reasonable attorneys' fees and legal costs) arising from or relating to: (a) any information (including your User Content or any other content) that you, or anyone using your account or your Credentials, store, upload, submit, post, or transmit through the Site or Services; (b) use of the Site or Services by you or anyone using your account or your Credentials; (c) breach of these Terms by you or anyone using your account or your Credentials; or (d) breach of any third party's intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other proprietary rights by you or anyone using your account or your Credentials. Deppo may, at its own expense, assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter otherwise subject to indemnification by you. If we do, you will reasonably cooperate with Deppo in that defense.

Other Provisions

Under no circumstances will Deppo be liable for any delay or failure in performance resulting in whole or in part from any act of nature or other cause beyond its reasonable control.

These Terms, and any claim or action against Deppo arising from or relating to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Site, or the Services, are governed by the laws of Estonia, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. This choice of law does not apply to a European Union user who lives outside Estonia. The law of that user's place of residence applies instead.

Subject to the last sentence of this paragraph, you agree that any claim or action against Deppo arising from or relating to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Site, or the Services will be brought only in the appropriate court in Tallinn, Estonia. You consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts for that purpose. If a European Union user lives outside Estonia, the courts of that user's place of residence have jurisdiction instead.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful, void, or unenforceable, that provision will be treated as severed from these Terms and will not affect the validity or enforceability of the remaining provisions.

If Deppo does not enforce a right or provision of these Terms, Deppo may still enforce that right or provision later.

We may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or by operation of law.

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any additional terms we present to you for a particular Service, as they may be revised from time to time, are the entire agreement between you and Deppo. They replace any earlier written materials, communications, discussions, representations, or understandings relating to the Site, the Services, or your use of them.

Privacy Policy

Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Zpeks OÜ ("Deppo", "we", "us", and "our") collects, uses, shares, and keeps personal data when you use the Deppo website at https://www.deppo.eu (the "Site") and the Deppo services (the "Services"). We are a company registered in Estonia, at Pärnu mnt 10, Tallinn, Estonia. For European Union data protection law, we are the controller of the personal data described here. Your use of the Site and Services is also governed by our Terms of Service.

What personal data we collect

Account. You can create an account with your email address, or by signing in with Google. If you sign in with an email address, other than through Google, we send a temporary link to that address. The link is valid for 15 minutes and can be used only once. Clicking it signs you in and creates a cookie that lasts 30 days. We do not store a password for this sign-in. If you sign in with Google, Google will inform you, on its sign-in screen, what private information it will share with us before you complete login. We receive only the information shown in that notice and that you allow Google to share. For an email account, you may also add a name and a profile picture. A Google account's name and picture are managed by Google and cannot be edited in Deppo.

Security question. When you create an account, you choose a security question and an answer. Deppo stores the question and a hash of the answer. The answer itself is not stored. The question is used to reset a subscription password.

Subscription password. When you create a subscription, you receive a password. That password is required to access the files in the subscription. Deppo does not store subscription passwords. Resetting one replaces it and disconnects drives that were using the old password. The new password is shown once. Email or Google sign-in cannot open the files.

Files. The files you store are kept as you upload them. Deppo does not encrypt those files. Traffic between your device and Deppo is encrypted with TLS.

Payment. If you buy a paid plan, a third-party payment service handles the payment. Deppo does not store credit card details, and no card details are accessible to us. The payment service creates a token we can use for later charges, such as renewing a subscription. The token is not your card number, and we cannot use it to view your card details. We keep the plan you chose, the amount, and the payment status. If you want to know how your card details are handled, read the terms and privacy statement of the payment service.

Connection logs. When you use the Site or Services, we collect the information needed to operate and protect them. That includes your IP address, browser type, operating system, and the date and time of the request. These logs can be linked to an account, so we do not treat them as anonymous.

Messages. If you email us, we keep the message and your contact details so we can reply.

What we do not collect

We do not collect special categories of personal data. We do not process data revealing racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, or trade union membership. We do not process genetic data, biometric data for the purpose of uniquely identifying a person, data concerning health, or data concerning a person's sex life or sexual orientation.

The Site and Services are for people who are 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone younger. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.

We do not use your personal data for advertising, and we do not sell it.

Why we use personal data

We use personal data to provide the Services. That includes creating your account, signing you in, storing your files, taking payment for a paid plan, and writing to you about your account or a subscription. This is necessary for the contract with you.

We also use personal data for our legitimate interests: to keep the Site and Services secure, to investigate abuse and breaches of the Terms of Service, to understand whether the service is working, and to fix and improve it. We use connection logs for those purposes. Where the law requires it, we use personal data to meet that legal obligation, including tax and accounting duties and lawful requests from authorities.

We do not make a decision based solely on automated processing that produces a legal effect or a similarly significant effect for you. If we suspend or close an account because of a breach of the Terms, you can contact us and ask us to review that decision.

How long we keep personal data

We keep personal data only for as long as we need it for the purposes above, and for any longer period the law requires. Accounting records are an example of data we may have to keep after an account is closed.

After you cancel a subscription, including when it is canceled because a payment was not made, the files in that subscription are kept for 30 days. During that period you can download them with the subscription password. They are then permanently deleted. Signing in with email or Google does not provide that access.

A free-tier subscription with no activity for 90 days is canceled automatically, and its files are deleted at the end of that period. That deletion is not delayed by the 30-day period that applies when you cancel a subscription yourself.

Reaching your storage quota does not delete your files. The subscription becomes read-only until you upgrade or free space.

Who we share personal data with

We share personal data only as described here.

  • Payment service. When you pay, the payment service receives the information it needs to take the payment. It does not give us your card details. It gives us a token for future charges.
  • Google. If you choose Google sign-in, you use Google's service. Google tells you what it will share with us before login is completed.
  • People you add. If you add another person to a subscription, that person can use the subscription as you allow. Add someone only if you want them to have that access.
  • Hetzner. Hetzner hosts the Services on its servers in Germany and Finland and processes data for us so we can provide the service.
  • Legal and business transfers. We may disclose personal data if the law, a court, or a competent authority requires it; to protect a person from harm; to investigate or stop fraud or abuse; to enforce the Terms of Service; or if Deppo is sold, merged, or reorganized. A buyer would have to use the data for the same purposes.

We do not share your personal data with third parties for their marketing. We do not sell personal data, and we do not plan to.

Where data is stored

Files and account data are stored in the European Union on servers operated by Hetzner. Your subscription is placed on a server in a Hetzner data center park in Germany or Finland. We do not offer storage in the United States, and there is no setting to move your files outside the EU. Google and the payment service process data under their own terms, which may involve their own locations. Their sign-in or payment screen, and their privacy statement, describe that processing.

Hetzner's data center parks in Germany and Finland are certified to ISO/IEC 27001 and meet the requirements of that international information security standard. Deppo itself is not ISO certified. The certification applies to those Hetzner parks, not to Deppo. Hetzner complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Because we host with Hetzner, your data is stored in those certified parks and under that compliance. That supports the protection of personal data and legally compliant processing at the data center. It does not encrypt your files, and it does not mean Deppo holds an ISO certification.

Cookies

We use one session cookie to keep you signed in. For email sign-in, it is created when you open the one-time link described above. Google sign-in creates the same kind of cookie. It is stored for 30 days, and it is marked HttpOnly and Secure so that a script on the page cannot read it and so that it is sent over an encrypted connection. The cookie is linked to your account. It is not an advertising cookie, and we do not use it to build a marketing profile. If you block or delete it, you will be signed out. The rest of the public Site still loads.

How we protect personal data

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal data against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access. Those measures include access controls, a session cookie that scripts cannot read, and TLS for data in transit. Stored files are not encrypted by Deppo. You are responsible for keeping the subscription password safe. If you lose it, the files in that subscription cannot be accessed.

If we become aware of a personal data breach that is likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will tell you without undue delay where the law requires it.

Your rights

If the EU General Data Protection Regulation applies to you, you have the rights below. You can use them by emailing info@deppo.eu. We may ask you to confirm that the request comes from you. We respond without undue delay. We do not charge a fee unless a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive, in which case we may charge a reasonable fee or refuse the request.

  • Access. You can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, and for the information in this policy. The files in a subscription are not part of that copy. You download those files with the subscription password.
  • Correction. On an email account, you can update your name and profile picture in account settings. Google profile details are managed by Google. Contact us if other account data is wrong.
  • Erasure. You can cancel a subscription from your account. The files are then kept for 30 days and deleted, as described above. To delete the account itself, email us. We will delete the personal data in the account unless we must keep a record for a legal obligation.
  • Restriction. You can ask us to restrict processing of your personal data. We will do so unless the law allows us to continue, for example to store the data for a legal claim.
  • Portability. You can ask for a machine-readable copy of the account data you provided to us. Files in a subscription are downloaded with the subscription password.
  • Objection. You can object to processing that is based on our legitimate interests. We will stop unless we have a compelling reason to continue, or we need the data for a legal claim.
  • Complaint. You can lodge a complaint with the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (www.aki.ee) or with the supervisory authority where you live.
  • No discrimination. If you live in California, we will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. The new version will be posted on the Site and will show a revision date. If a change requires your consent, we will ask you before we rely on that change. If we want to use personal data for a new purpose that this policy does not cover, we will tell you before we do so.

Questions about this policy or about your personal data can be sent to info@deppo.eu.
